Without its own beer, the Kölsch, Cologne would be just as unthinkable as the dialect of the same name, which the people of Cologne proudly cultivate. Both can best be experienced in a traditional Cologne brewery, where we will be pleased to welcome you at the reception of the 11th EUROPEAN SLAG CONFERENCE on Tuesday, 4th October 2022!
By the way, the names of typical Cologne dishes are somewhat confusing for strangers, but they have one thing in common: they taste great!
Examples are:
‘Halven Hahn’ (translates literally as half a chicken: a rye bread roll with a thick slice of cheese)
‘Himmel un Äd’ (translates literally as heaven and earth: baked blood sausage with braised onions, mashed potatoes and stewed apples)
‘Hammamm’ (German: Hinterkeule vom Schwein, English: leg of pork)
And just in case you have difficulties understanding the waiter, known as Köbes: he’ll bring you the Kölsch without being asked, unless you put your beer mat on the glass.
We are looking forward to a convivial and stimulating evening with you!
